2026 WA Agriculture Show Grant Program
Celebrating Agriculture, Creativity and Community at the Dowerin Machinery Field Days
The Dowerin Machinery Field Days is proud to be supported by the Western Australian Government through the WA Agriculture Show Societies Grant Program, helping us deliver engaging experiences, celebrate regional talent and bring our community together.
Thanks to the support of this funding, we were able to offer a fantastic range of activities and presentations for visitors to enjoy, showcasing the diversity of agriculture, arts, gardening and family entertainment.
Visitors had the opportunity to watch regional artist Linzi Carter in action during a five-hour live painting session in the LJM Pavilion. The experience also included digital prints and a Q&A, giving attendees the chance to engage with the creative process and learn more about her work.
Agricultural heritage was brought to life by Wheatbelt Draught Horses, with Betty the draught horse demonstrating traditional working horse techniques. Visitors could see demonstrations including gristing wheat, rolling oats and operating a root pulper, alongside a display of vintage horse-drawn farming implements and informative talks with the public. These demonstrations offered a valuable insight into the history of farming and the important role working horses played in agriculture.
There was plenty of fun for younger visitors and families, with Rainbow Unicorn Face Painting bringing colour and creativity to the Markets Hall, featuring regional exhibits, across both days. Freedom Fairies also entertained visitors on the lawn with face painting, hula hoop activities and bubble workshops, providing interactive fun for all ages.
Gardening enthusiasts also had the opportunity to learn from Sue McDougall, horticulturist, landscape architect, broadcaster and garden lover, who delivered two 45-minute presentation sessions sharing her knowledge and passion for gardening and landscape design.
Adding to the excitement, the Perth Royal Show generously donated a special prize for one lucky attendee. The prize included one family ticket to the Perth Royal Show 2026, four passes to the Members Lounge with seating and incredible views of the Main Arena, and $100 in vouchers to spend on food and drinks in the Members Lounge.
The Dowerin Machinery Field Days extends its sincere thanks to the Western Australian Government, through the WA Agriculture Show Societies Grant Program, and to the Perth Royal Show for their generous support. Contributions such as these help us deliver memorable experiences, celebrate regional talent and heritage, and continue to create opportunities for visitors of all ages to connect, learn and enjoy everything the Field Days has to offer.
We are grateful for the ongoing support that helps make the Dowerin Machinery Field Days a special event for our community and visitors from across Western Australia.
